Benjamin Gan (Chinese: 甘益光; pinyin: Gan Yikung), is a Taiwanese film director, screenwriter, actor and cinematographer.

Life and career
Benjamin Gan was born and raised in Taichung City, Taiwan. His parents separated shortly (and then got divorced) after he was born. His mother, Chien-Chih Su (蘇乾治), raised four children alone. His grandfather, Kan Ah-yen (甘阿炎, Gan Ayan), was the magistrate of Yilan County, Taiwan (see List of county magistrates of Yilan). [1]
Benjamin graduated from Soochow University in Taipei, Taiwan. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature.
Benjamin is an award-winning film director [2], a novelist, and a poet. He has won the Shuang-Hsi Modern Literature Award twice [3] [4]. His works can be described as surrealistic. He was the editor-in-chief of a magazine before he started his film-making career in 2010. His film "Secrets of the Lakes" was nominated for the 2015 South Taiwan Film Festival. "Your Clock" won the Best Feature Fiction Award at the 12 Months Film Festival [9]. In 2017, his film "Mr. L" won the Festival Special Mention Award [10] at the Noida International Film Festival [11] and was nominated for Best Documentary Film at the 2018 MiMo Milano Mobile Film Festival.
